How do I submit stories?
If you have not already done so, please register for an account. Once you've logged in, click on Account Information and choose Add Story. The form presented there will allow you to submit your story. A Moderator may review your submission before it is posted.
What are the ratings used on the site?
We use the following rating system:
- A - All ages/audiences.
- P - Pre-teen (appropriate for ages 12 and under).
- T - Teen (appropriate for ages 13 and older).
- Y - Young Adult (appropriate for ages 17 and older).
- X - Mature Adults (no minors allowed).
How do I prevent age warning pop-ups from appearing for each chapter?
In your member profile, you can certify that you are an adult and opt not to see the age warning pop-ups except for the first chapter. Only registered members have this option.
How are stories organized?
Stories are organized by classifications, categories, genres, and warnings. Authors should use all that apply to their story in order to correctly tag it for readers. Here is the list:
Classifications
- Story Format
- Collection - A collection of Drabbles or OneShots by one author. The collected stories may or may not be related.
- Drabble - A story with a set word limit (usually 100 or 500 words but this may vary). Also known as a 'short-short'.
- Multi-Chapter - A story with more than one chapter, usually posted one chapter at a time.
- OneShot - A story that is posted all at one time and is normally only one chapter long. May also be a 'vignette' (short scene between characters or a character sketch with no other plot).
- OneShot PWP - A one-chapter story that is basically a sex scene between characters ('Porn Without Plot' or 'Plot? What Plot?').
- Poetry - A verse or poem, or collection thereof.
- SongFic - A story that incorporates and/or centers around the lyrics of a song.
- Universe
- Alternate Reality - A story that uses the characters (with their personalities intact) but not the established facts of the Inuyasha Canon Universe. The setting is usually similar to the series but known events have been significantly altered.
- Alternate Universe - A story that uses the characters (with their personalities intact) but not the setting of the Inuyasha manga/anime. It may take place in another place and/or time period than the Inuyasha series.
- Canon Universe - A story that uses both the characterizations and the settings portrayed in the Inuyasha manga/anime, and does not alter any known facts or events found in the published chapters/episodes.
- CrossOver - A story that brings characters from other fandoms into the Inuyasha universe, and/or has Inuyasha characters going to the other fandom universe.
- Divergence - A story that has the same characters (with their personalities intact) and settings as the Inuyasha anime/manga, but changes or disregards known facts/events in the series.
Categories
- Challenge Fics - Stories that are written in response to a writing challenge. Authors should mention who or where the challenge was posted in their Story Notes.
- Sequel - A story that is a continuation of another fan fiction story.
Genres
- Action/Adventure - A story that takes the characters into far off places, on a risky quest, has battles, and/or into unknown realms. It has action...and adventure.
- Comedy - A story that uses significant amounts of humor or parody.
- DarkFic/Horror - A story that contains morbid topics, extreme violence and gore, is meant to disturb the reader, involves psychological unrest or cruelty, and/or gruesome discriptions or imagery.
- Drama - A story that portrays emotional turmoil, psychological tension and suspense, traumatic events, and/or serious issues that the characters must face.
- Romance - Wuv. Twue wuv.
- Supernatural - A story that utilizes ghosts, spirits, or other otherworldly elements in its plot.
Warnings
- Adult Content - Contains sexual situations, graphic violence, or subject matter inappropriate for anyone under age 18. If sexual content is present, authors should select "Lemon" or "Lime" from the sub-category list to let readers know what to expect.
- Alternate Pairings - Contains pairings that may not be considered canon (examples: Kagome/Sesshoumaru, Jaken/Kouga).
- Angst - Contains situations with intense psychological stress, emotional torment, and/or anguish.
- Mild Adult Situations - Contains some mild sexual innuendo or situations (but not actual sex or graphic descriptions of sexual acts), mild violence, and/or some offensive language.
- Non-Consensual Situations - Contains Non-consensual sexual or other situations that some readers may find disturbing.
- Offensive Language - Contains frequent use of offensive or vulgar language.
- Violence - Contains significant amounts of violence or graphic descriptions of violent acts and/or gore.
- Yaoi/Yuri - Contains same-sex romantic and/or sexual relationships or situations. Authors should select the pairing (or the generic M/M or F/F) from the sub-category list when posting their story.
